Setting
up your Firefox Cymraeg y Gymuned browser with a Welsh and English
interfaces that are easily switchable involves firstly setting up Welsh
Firefox, then an
extension called Locale Switcher and finally installing the English
language pack.
The following steps we're first successfully reproduced with the Firefox Cymraeg y Gymuned 1.5.0.1.
-
Go to Tasgau -> Estyniadau
-
In the Estyniadau dialog box, click the hyperlink at the bottom -
'Estyn Rhagor'
-
The Add Ons page for Firefox from the official Mozilla.org website appears in the browser window.
- In the website go
to the Languages section and then go to page 3 of extensions to find 'Locale Switcher' .
- Click
on
the Install hyperlink and the 'Gosod Nawr' button in result Firefox
Cymraeg dialog window. The add on will install and you'll need to
re-start Firefox.
When you reboot, there'll be a new menu item under 'Tasgau' called
'Ieithoedd' with Welsh as the only installed locale. You'll need to next, install the English language pack.
- Go to Mozilla's
ftp - although there are mirrors, this link should work
-
and click on the language pack you want - en-GB.xpi or en-US.xpi
Firefox will begin the download
and install process, but you may need to permit the website to do so
first - i.e. Firefox may show a yellow bar at the top saying
installing is blocked from this site. Simply click the 'Dewisiadau'
button or right hand mouse click and click the 'Caniatau' button.
- The
English pack will install and you can restart your browser to see
'Saesneg (Y Deyrnas Unedig)' as a new language under 'Tasgau ->
Ieithoedd'. You can now choose this and switch over to English after restarting Firefox
one final time.
